The share of Ukrainians who, fleeing the war, went abroad and would like to stay in their new place of residence increased from 8 to 18% during the year. These are results research by Gradus Research.

Among those willing to return, more than a third plan to do so by the end of 2024 (39%), while the other third of respondents (36%) have difficulty deciding.

The level of adaptation of Ukrainians who went abroad reached 62%. Poland (29%), Lithuania (16%) and Germany (10%) remain in the top countries to which Ukrainians migrated, although this does not correspond to Eurostat data (23,1%, 1,7% and 28,3%, respectively ).

Lack of knowledge of the local language is most often the key reason for unemployment among surveyed Ukrainian migrants (43%).

In terms of employment, 14% are technical workers and construction workers, 10% work in cleaning or housekeeping, the same number work in engineering, science and technology, 8% in education, sales and communication, and another 7% in logistics and transport industry, management and administration. The survey was conducted from September 22 to October 5 using the method of self-filling the questionnaire in the mobile application.
