A scheme of embezzlement of budget funds allocated for employee remuneration was exposed in the Vinnytsia branch of the Ukrzaliznytsia enterprise. It was organized by the director of enterprises together with his two deputies and the chief accountant. About this informed Office of the Prosecutor General.
It is noted that as part of an organized group, since March 2022, they have been entering information into the accounting documentation about the accrual of additional payments to employees of the branch's management staff under a brigade contract, the payment of which is limited for the period of martial law in Ukraine.
The accomplices illegally charged "supplements" to the basic salary of employees who were not involved in work related to train movement, ensuring traffic safety, uninterrupted operation of the company, etc. Over more than 2 years, they issued such additional payments for more than 22 million hryvnias, some of which they transferred to their own benefit.
"As part of the criminal proceedings, authorized searches were conducted, during which accounting documents, computer equipment, and funds were seized. The property of the director and chief accountant, namely real estate, vehicles, and land, was seized," — added the UGP.
The perpetrators have already been informed of the suspicion. Three suspects have been remanded in custody with the right to bail. The issue of a remand for one more suspect is being resolved.
