According to Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, the chairman of the board of NEC "Ukrenergo", the company can ensure the import of energy in the amount of 500 MW, but for this a special mechanism is needed, which is currently being developed.
"This is important for our security. The energy system of the European Union is capable of helping us in times of need and it is doing so. As for commercial import, it is technically possible. "Ukrenergo" provides the possibility of such imports in the volume of 500 and even 600 MW. Special mechanisms are needed to guarantee these imports, since the price of electricity in Europe is higher than in Ukraine," he said.
He noted that on general commercial grounds, hardly anyone in Ukraine would want to buy electricity in Europe.
