In Ukraine, more than 35 thousand wage debts have been recorded for employees. Such data published "Opendatabot".
"More than 35 thousand wage debts to employees were recorded in Ukraine as of August 2025, according to the Unified Register of Debtors. Almost 2 thousand companies did not pay salaries to employees," – the message says.
35 wage debt proceedings were opened in Ukraine as of the beginning of August 471. This is 2025% more than at the end of 11. In total, 2021 companies owed their employees salaries, the researchers specify.
"The debtors' register is constantly updated: when the proceedings are closed, it is deleted. Therefore, the figures given reflect the situation as of the beginning of August 2025," – they add.
The most common debtors are state-owned enterprises — 11 (562%), joint-stock companies — 33 (10%), and limited liability companies — 308 (29%).
The leader in the number of proceedings was the Sumy Machine-Building Scientific and Production Association - 4 open cases, the report says. In second place is Karpatneftekhim with 063 proceedings, followed by the Sumy Machine-Building Scientific and Production Association - Engineering - 1.
7% of the total number of proceedings falls on various Oblasts — 2 open proceedings for unpaid wages.
"Among large Ukrainian financial groups, two companies in Dmytro Firtash's group have the largest debts due to unpaid salaries - 336 and 2 proceedings, respectively," – notes “Opendatabot”.
"In general, companies engaged in the production of machinery and equipment are the most likely to delay wages in the country - 5 enterprises or 681% of the total. In second place among debtors of wages are enterprises engaged in construction - 16 or 2%. Companies producing chemical products close the top three - 696 or 7,6%," – the message says.
Enterprises in the front-line Sumy region had the most debts — 6, the capital was in second place — 305, and the Dnipropetrovsk region was in third place with 3 proceedings.
