The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has created a special structure for the integration of F-16 aircraft. It, named "Office-61", includes several stages of deployment and several directions. About this said First Deputy Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Oleksandr Pavlyuk.
"He took part in a conference with the participation of Western partners in Copenhagen (Denmark), where he presented the concept of "Office-61" - a specially created structure under the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the main purpose of which is the organization of comprehensive support of the continuous process of integration of the F-16 multi-purpose aircraft into the general system Defense Forces of Ukraine", he said.

The main areas of work of "Office-61" will be:
— support and development of the infrastructure of airfields (airbases);
— comprehensive protection of the airfield infrastructure, including the air defense system;
— selection and training of flight crew and other aviation personnel;
— aircraft life cycle support and logistical support;
— international communication and other legal, financial, security and administrative functions.
It will be recalled that on October 22, Air Force Speaker Yuriy Ignat reported that Ukrainian pilots will soon switch from flight simulators to real F-16 fighters.
The Air Force hopes that the first F-16 fighters will likely arrive in Ukraine in the spring of 2024. At the same time, about 150 aircraft would be enough to effectively protect the airspace of the country.
