Education ombudsman Nadiya Leshchyk suggested to grant the right to educational institutions to leave schoolchildren for the second year of study. Education ombudsman Nadiya Leschyk took this initiative during a meeting with Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisov.
According to her, students should be kept for the second year if one of the conditions is met: the child's initial level of academic achievements, long-term absence of lessons or absence during one academic semester.
"Proposed to give educational institutions the right to keep students of all classes in the same class for the second year of study under one of the following conditions: the presence of the initial level of the child's educational achievements, long-term absence of lessons, absence during one academic semester by the decision of the pedagogical council, without the consent of the parents", the ombudsman wrote on Facebook.
