Google limited the creation of new accounts in Russia. This was reported by the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation on September 26.
A significant reduction in the number of SMS sent by the company to Russian users was also recorded.
"SMS verification as a second authorization factor for previously created Google Accounts is still working, but there is no certainty that this feature will remain." - says the message.
Users of Google services are recommended to create backup copies of their data, switch to using alternative methods of two-factor authentication or domestic platforms.
