WBC, WBO, WBA and IBO super heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) was arrested at Krakow airport.
Zhan Beleniuk, first deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Youth and Sports, reported this in his Telegram account.
According to available information, he was late and, literally, "flew" in a luxury car, significantly exceeding the permitted speed.
Already at the airport, he was caught up and "accepted" by Polish counterintelligence.
A little later, the boxer's wife, Kateryna, assured in her Instagram account that there is no reason to worry.
"Everything is fine, everything is fine. Alexander will explain everything later. Nothing criminal happened," Kateryna wrote.
In his turn, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Georgy Tykhiy, in a comment for "Ukrainian Pravda", stated that the consul general had already left for Krakow airport to find out the circumstances of the situation.
