Prosecutors of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office filed a lawsuit with the High Anti-Corruption Court to declare the assets of the deputy head of a department of one of the departments of the State Tax Service in Sumy region unfounded.
Assets may be seized in favor of the state by decision of the Supreme Court of Ukraine in accordance with Article 290 of the Civil Code of Ukraine.
As reported by the NACP, this is a Lexus RX 350 car worth UAH 3,1 million, which is registered to the wife of his close friend. However, the official's wife actually owns it. In addition, the law enforcement officer owns four real estate properties (three apartments and one parking space) with a total value of UAH 3,9 million. They are registered to his mother-in-law.
"An analysis of legitimate income and savings shows, however, that neither the official, his wife and mother-in-law, nor the family of a close friend could have purchased an expensive car and real estate with legitimate income," — the department said.
