A regional communication campaign “1325 Strengthens the Country” has been launched in Odessa

On October 1, a briefing was held at the city hall dedicated to the launch of the communication campaign "1325 Strengthens the Country."

The briefing was opened by Tetyana Bayluk, Head of the Department for Gender Policy, Prevention of Domestic Violence and Combating Human Trafficking of the Gender Policy Department, and Olena Kitayska, Director of the Department of Labor and Social Policy of the Odessa City Council.

The briefing was hosted by Lorisa Shvets, founder of the media resource “Life Compass” and an active member of the Coalition 1325 in the Odessa region, from the secretariat of the Coalition 1325. Tetyana Semikop presented a detailed plan of events for the regional campaign, emphasizing that the launch in Odessa is only the first step in large-scale work aimed at strengthening the role of women in peace, security, and decision-making processes.

What the “1325 Strengthens the Country” campaign in Odessa involves:

Active coverage in the media and social networks. Special videos, information messages, and future plans for further work will be created. This will help a wide audience learn more about the project's objectives.

Photo exhibition "Women Making History". The exhibition will introduce women from the Odessa region who are changing society through their daily work and civic activism. It will become a space for inspiration and recognition of female leadership.

Interviews with women leaders, activists, and volunteers. Their personal stories and experiences will become the basis for public dialogue and show the real impact of women's voices.

Specific campaign events:

October 7 – info session “Women and Ecology.” A modern format for working with youth, new approaches to challenges and social initiatives.

October 17 – round table. A space for professional discussion with experts, government representatives, the public, and international partners. Topics include women’s participation in decision-making, security issues, and a new coalition action plan. Partners from Rivne, Donetsk, Khmelnytskyi, and Vinnytsia regions will also participate.

Information sessions. Interactive meetings for community members who seek to gain knowledge and tools for local work.

Briefings and public discussions. Platforms for dialogue with the media and the public, where results will be presented and new ideas will be developed.

Thus, the campaign encompasses a wide range of activities – from creative exhibitions and media materials to expert discussions and practical meetings. Its main goal is to show how “1325 strengthens the country” and emphasize the real power of women’s change.

The general plan of the campaign was approved by the Ukrainian Women's Fund and is designed to involve as many active women as possible in the processes of societal transformation. We will inform about each project event separately, this will help us all develop recommendations and develop our regional action plan 1325 "Women, Peace, Security".
