Ukrainian lawyer Andriy Portnov was shot dead near a private school in Colegio Americano, a Madrid suburb of Pozuelo de Alarcon.
Edition El País revealed some details of the murder. In particular, journalists wrote that Portnov died this morning after being shot 5 times, by 2-3 people.
"There are no arrests at this time. The school does not know if he is the father of any of the students," — the publication noted.
According to Spanish journalists, the murder occurred at around 9:15 a.m., and police were immediately dispatched to the crime scene at Calle de América, 3.
Police said they received a call from a citizen who "reported that they found an injured man lying unconscious on the ground."
Doctors who arrived at the scene confirmed death "due to injuries incompatible with life, received from at least three gunshot wounds."
"One shot, fatal, was fired into the head, at neck level, from behind, but at an angle, and the other two into the torso, into the stomach and into the side," the source said.
Police sources told the publication that the man is a Ukrainian citizen and was driving a Mercedes when he was attacked by two or three assailants who shot him five times in the head and back. Police did not provide details about the type of weapon used, as the investigation has only just begun.
"There is a lot of commotion right now. We are in shock and trying to organize our response to the event," — an employee of the American School told the newspaper by phone. She confirmed that the incident happened in front of the school, "half an hour after" the start of classes, so neither the children nor their parents saw anything.
