In the conditions of the current situation at the front, it is necessary to mobilize 500 citizens. About this informed People's Deputy and Secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security Roman Kostenko on the air of the "Pryamiy" TV channel.
According to him, after the adoption of the law on strengthening mobilization in May, its rates were normal, but in September they decreased. According to Kostenko, they planned to call up 200 people, but, in his opinion, this is not enough.
He also recalled that in December 2023, the former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhnyi noted that 500 people should be drafted into the army. The deputy believes that this will be the right decision.
"Given the numbers that are available and the amount of replenishment we need, I still agree more with him (with Zaluzhny — ed.) and believe that such a figure is more relevant than how many we are recruiting", — Kostenko said.
