An exchange of prisoners is being prepared between Ukraine and the Russian Federation as part of an agreement facilitated by the United Arab Emirates. As part of this, it will be possible to free 90 Ukrainians captured by the Russian occupiers. It is reported Bloomberg.
The exchange is said to take place on Wednesday morning.
As a source familiar with the matter told Bloomberg, in general, Ukraine and the Russian Federation intend to exchange 180 prisoners.
This will be the sixth exchange this year brokered by the Gulf state of the UAE.
It also indicated that each side planned to release 90 prisoners if the deal was implemented, the people, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told the Western publication.
"With this exchange, the total number of prisoners exchanged this year through the mediation of the UAE will reach almost 1400." Bloomberg writes.
