Ukraine and the European Union have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the defense industry. About this reported the Interfax Ukraine.
The Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine, Herman Smetanin, and the Secretary General of the Aerospace, Security and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD), Jan Pi, signed the agreement.
The signing took place on Monday in Brussels as part of the second EU-Ukraine Defense Industry Forum.
The purpose of the memorandum is to jointly promote the common interests of Ukrainian industry and ASD members. The parties agreed to promote cooperation and partnership between Ukrainian defense companies and ASD members, as well as to facilitate the participation of Ukrainian companies in industrial consortia under relevant EU programs. These include the European Defense Fund or Horizon Europe.
