The Czechoslovak Group (CSG) concluded an agreement with the Ukrainian arms manufacturer "Ukrainian Armored Vehicles" on the local production of 155 mm artillery ammunition in Ukraine. The contract was signed on October 2 at the International Defense Industry Forum in Kyiv. This is reported press service of CSG.
Production of projectiles will begin in 2025, as a result of which by 2026 the volume of production will exceed 300 units per year.
According to the agreements, CSG will provide technological support and know-how for the organization of production in Ukraine. This initiative strengthens cooperation between the Ukrainian and Czech sides in efforts to increase the supply of ammunition to the Ukrainian army. In addition, production will be carried out both in Ukraine and in the Czech Republic, which will help reduce the cost of projectiles and speed up their production.
Richard Kubena, commercial director of CSG Defence, emphasized the importance of this agreement for Ukraine. According to him, cooperation will enable Ukraine to independently produce critical military equipment, which is a key element of its defense capability. CSG has been actively supporting Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian invasion, supplying a variety of military equipment and ammunition.
The decision to localize projectile production was also supported by the Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic and the Intergovernmental Defense Cooperation Agency AMOS. These organizations play an important role in the implementation of the Czech Ammunition Initiative and in providing assistance to Ukraine.
