As part of the peace talks in Geneva, the head of the Ukrainian delegation, Rustem Umerov, personally met with the head of the Russian delegation, Volodymyr Medinsky, without US representatives.
This was stated by Diana Davityan, spokeswoman for the head of the Ukrainian negotiating delegation and Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov, reports "Suspile".
According to her, after the conclusion of the trilateral talks in Geneva, Umerov and the head of the Servant of the People faction, David Arakhamia, had a separate conversation with Medinsky. It is not specified whether another member of the Ukrainian delegation, Kyrylo Budanov, was at the meeting.
These negotiations lasted approximately one and a half hours. The topic of the meeting is currently unknown.
The publication added that Medinsky, in a comment to Russian media representatives, confirmed that he had met with members of the Ukrainian delegation.
As a reminder, today, February 18, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported that Ukraine and Russia have already agreed on the next round of peace talks. However, no details were provided regarding the date and location of their holding.
