Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov reported to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the results of the Ukrainian team's negotiations that took place in France the day before. About this informed President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
According to the head of state, the bilateral document on security guarantees for Ukraine is actually ready for finalization at the highest level with the President of the United States.
The President emphasized that Ukraine continues to combine the work of European and American teams. During the meetings, the parties also discussed documents on the country's recovery and economic development, as well as complex issues of the basic framework for ending the war. The Ukrainian side presented possible options for finalizing the relevant document.
At the same time, Zelensky noted that the American side plans contacts with Russia, and Ukraine expects feedback on the aggressor's real readiness to end the war.
"We understand that the American side will communicate with Russia, and we expect feedback - whether the aggressor is ready to really end the war," Zelensky wrote.
Upon returning to Kyiv, the negotiating team will report on all the details of the meetings. Ukraine also continues to inform partners about the consequences of the Russian strikes, which, according to the President, do not indicate a change in Moscow's priorities.
"The pressure on Russia must grow as intensively as the negotiating teams work. The realism of future security guarantees must be proven by the partners' ability to exert effective pressure on the aggressor right now," — emphasized Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Ukraine is currently preparing new contacts with international partners.
