In June, Ukraine received 7,2 billion euros in military aid from international partners. This is the largest figure since the end of American funding. About this reported the Euractive.
According to the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, June's volume was the largest since April 2024, when Ukraine received €9,04 billion in military aid. The current figure also marked the third-highest monthly volume of support for the start of a full-scale Russian invasion.
The main reason for the increase was new funding from the European Union. In May and June, European institutions allocated €4,3 billion in military assistance under the EU Loan in Support of Ukraine.
"The rapid launch of the loan in support of Ukraine is a positive signal for Ukraine," — said Taro Nishikawa, head of the Ukraine Support Tracker project.
In addition, Germany sent 700 million euros to support the Ukrainian army, Denmark – 600 million euros, and the Netherlands – 500 million euros.
Long-term support remains lower
Before the end of US funding in February 2025, donors provided Ukraine with an average of €3,46 billion in military aid each month. After that, the figure dropped to €2,94 billion.
At the same time, American weapons continue to play an important role in Ukraine's defense. European countries are increasingly purchasing weapons from American defense companies or using supplies from US stocks.
“The United States remains a key supplier of systems like Patriot, for which Europe currently has only limited alternatives,” — noted Ukraine Support Tracker analyst Federico Mellase.
