Ukraine this week received a new Patriot air defense system, the delivery of which was previously discussed with representatives of the German government.
For according to The Telegraph, After US President Donald Trump announced the allocation of $10 billion in aid to Ukraine and threatened to impose tough trade tariffs against Russia and countries that buy its energy resources, a new Patriot system arrived in Ukraine by the end of that week.
"Thanks to the agreement with Germany, the new Patriot air defense missile system and additional missiles for it have already arrived in Ukraine," — the publication's sources noted.
The Pentagon and the White House used this move to try to convince European countries to take a risk by sending their existing stocks to Kyiv, waiting for America to replenish them.
However, for some countries, this is a difficult task, given that their Patriot missiles will not be replaced until early next year.
Earlier this week, Berlin announced a deal with Washington to transfer five more batteries to Ukraine. Germany will provide funds for two systems, while Norway has promised to pay for the third.
