Large-scale protests against Donald Trump are planned in the US on Saturday, with organizers expecting millions of people to participate. This was reported by axes
The rallies are taking place against the backdrop of a military parade in Washington, which Trump is holding for his birthday.
The campaign, called "No Kings," will reach more than 1800 cities in all 50 states, as well as several countries outside the United States.
The protests were initiated by over 100 pro-democracy civil society organizations, which declared June 14th "a chance to reflect the absurdity of the MAGA regime and clowns."
"Donald Trump wants tanks in the streets and a televised show of dominance for his birthday," — the organizers said in a statement.
The mass demonstrations will take place in response to the military parade in Washington, D.C., organized to mark Trump's 79th birthday and the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army.
According to reports, its cost could reach up to $45 million. This does not include security costs.
The US president warned that any protests during the event would be met with "very great force."
However, no large-scale protests are planned in Washington itself - the organizers deliberately chose other cities to avoid confrontation.
Another protest campaign, "Drive Out the Clowns," organized by the Women's March, will take place in parallel. More than 13 participants in 000 cities have already been confirmed.
