Apparently, the Russian troops have problems with air defense in the occupied Crimea. This is evidenced by the attack of the Defense Forces of Ukraine on the S-400 "Triumph" complex, stated analysts from the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
The report dated September 14 states that the SBU and the Navy of Ukraine were able to conduct an operation during which the S-400 "Triumph" complex of the Russian Armed Forces was destroyed near Yevpatoria. Yes, the radar and antennas of the system were hit by a UAV. After that, the launchers were destroyed by Neptune missiles.
"This strike shows that Russian forces were not ready to intercept the missiles with the system or were unable to do so. On August 23, Ukrainian forces struck a Russian S-400 air defense system near Olenivka in Crimea (117 km northwest of Sevastopol), and the second Ukrainian strike against a Russian air defense system in recent weeks suggests that such tactical errors may reflect a broader systemic problem with Russian air defense in occupied Crimea," the analysts explain.
Analysts said that, judging by the geolocation data, the Russian Armed Forces did place a S-400 battery at the site of the explosion near Yevpatoria.
Experts said that this strike shows that the Russian army was not ready to intercept the missiles with the help of its air defense systems.
