It is quite possible to agree on a specific date for Ukraine's accession to the European Union, but this requires negotiations and separate preparatory work. This was stated by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said before the start of the NATO defense ministers' meeting in Brussels.
Pistorius responded to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's statement that Ukraine needs to set a specific date for its accession to the EU, as membership in the European Union is part of the security architecture.
The German minister said he considered it realistic to agree on such a date.
"A specific date is always possible," he noted.
At the same time, Pistorius emphasized that determining this date requires separate work.
"What should it be? It has to be negotiated. It's not something that can be decided on the spur of the moment," — added the head of the German Ministry of Defense.
