Trump's team proposed direct talks between Ukraine, the US and Russia — Zelensky

The President noted that the meeting will take place only after analyzing the results of Ukraine's negotiations with the US

The United States has proposed a format for a meeting involving Ukraine, Russia, the United States, and representatives of Europe within the framework of possible peace talks. The head of state said this during a joint conversation with Portuguese Prime Minister Luis Montenegro with media representatives in Kyiv.

"Indeed, the US said that they would have a separate meeting with representatives of Russia. And they proposed this format - Ukraine, America, Russia and, probably, representatives of Europe," Zelensky noted.

At the same time, the president emphasized that holding such a meeting is possible only after analyzing the results of the negotiations already held between Ukraine and the United States.

"It would be logical to hold such a joint meeting after we understand the potential outcome of the meeting that has already taken place — America and Ukraine," — he emphasized.

According to Zelensky, the Ukrainian side should receive detailed information about the results of the first stage of the dialogue, after which decisions will be made on further negotiations.

"Our team will contact me, tell me the results of the first round of dialogue, and then we will understand what to do with the continuation," —
said the president.

He also noted that he is currently awaiting the US position after consultations with the Russian side.

"How America will react after consulting with the Russians - to be honest, I don't know yet, but I will know today," added Zelensky.
