In the Kirovohrad region, the head of the regional medical and social expert commission was detained, who demanded a bribe from a wounded soldier of the Armed Forces. According to the case file, she demanded 2 US dollars from the soldier in order to establish the second group of disability on a lifelong basis. The attacker demanded money from a wounded defender who was seriously injured during the fighting for Chasiv Yar in the spring of 2023. Then the fragments of a Russian aerial bomb paralyzed the left side of his body.
Despite the severity of the military's condition, the head of the commission continued to demand a bribe. The police arrested her on the spot when she received the entire amount. Currently, she has been notified of suspicion under Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (receiving an illegal benefit).
The investigation is ongoing, and the defendant faces up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property. Joint measures were carried out by the SBU and the National Police under the procedural guidance of the Kirovohrad Regional Prosecutor's Office.
