The situation with electricity in Kyiv is critical: there are no forecasts for stabilization

After massive Russian shelling of energy infrastructure, the electricity supply situation in Kyiv remains critical, and there are currently no forecasts for stabilization. Deputy Minister of Energy Mykola Kolesnyk announced this during a briefing.

"We see that the enemy is actually throwing all available forces and means at the destruction of the energy component. A special target is Kiev. Both the generation and transmission of electricity are damaged," — Kolesnyk said.

According to him, each new attack significantly complicates and slows down the restoration of the power system, and difficult weather conditions only exacerbate the problem.

The most difficult situation is in the capital. Due to massive shelling, emergency power outage schedules in Kyiv remain unstable and unpredictable.

"The situation with the duration of emergency outages, particularly in Kyiv, after massive strikes remains unpredictable," - emphasized the deputy minister.

There are no forecasts for the restoration of power.

The Ministry of Energy directly states: it is currently impossible to make any predictions regarding the stabilization of electricity supply.

"The situation is quite complicated, and we cannot give any predictions right now, as the enemy continues its intensive attacks," — Kolesnyk emphasized.

After all, emergency and restoration work after the night attack on January 13 is being carried out not only in Kyiv. In particular, in the Dnipropetrovsk region, as of this morning, more than 6 thousand subscribers had lost power. In the Dnipro, damage to the electricity distribution system was recorded, which led to additional network restrictions.

"Energy engineers are taking all possible technical measures to return the equipment to normal operation as soon as possible," — Kolesnyk noted.
