Kyiv and regions remain without electricity and heat after Russian strikes. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a special energy selector to assess the situation in the regions affected by Russian attacks. The most difficult situation is currently in Kyiv and the region, Kharkiv and the region, Sumy, Chernihiv and the Dnipro region.
According in the words of the head of state, repair crews, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, employees of energy companies and utility services are working as efficiently as possible. As of this morning, about 4000 homes in Kyiv still without heat, Almost 60% of the capital remains without electricity.
Zelensky noted that although the city authorities report a sufficient number of forces involved, additional measures and resources are needed to accelerate recovery.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported on the deployment of support and heating points, the preparation of hot meals for people, as well as ensuring the operation of base stations and mobile communications. Separately, measures were discussed with Ukrenergo to accelerate repairs of power grids and substations.
The Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense will check the information regarding booking of personnel for energy companies and utilitiesinvolved in the elimination of the consequences of the strikes. For such enterprises, a decision has already been made to reserve 100% of staffso that the shortage of personnel does not slow down the work.
The President added that he expects separate report by government officials on support programs for the population and businesses, and negotiations are underway with international partners for additional assistance. The priorities are obvious: missiles for air defense, equipment for the energy sector and the most efficient implementation of all restoration work.
