The European Union received information about Iran's transfer of ballistic missiles to Russia for use in the war against Ukraine. This was stated by the spokesman of the EU foreign policy service, Peter Stano.
"We have reliable information provided by allies about the supply of Iranian ballistic missiles to Russia," He declared.
According to Stano, the EU countries are currently studying this issue, and if it is confirmed, it will mean a significant material escalation of Iran's support for Russia's aggressive war against Ukraine.
"The unanimous position of EU leaders has always been clear. The European Union will respond quickly and in coordination with international partners, including with new and significant restrictive measures against Iran." - assured the spokesman.
Earlier, the mass media reported that Iran had sent short-range ballistic missiles to Russia. And the day before, Iranian deputy Ahmad Bakhshaish Ardestani admitted that his country had indeed equipped Moscow with ballistic missiles.
In turn, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine called on Iran to refrain from transferring any types of weapons and military equipment to Russia.
Today, the Kremlin neither confirmed nor denied information about Iranian missiles
