US President-elect Donald Trump said that Ukraine wants to conclude a peace agreement with Russia. Trump made a corresponding statement on his social network Truth Social, commenting on the events in Syria.
The American leader said that Bashar al-Assad fled Syria under pressure from the rebels because his patron Russia, led by Vladimir Putin, "was no longer interested in protecting him."
"There was absolutely no reason for Russia to be there. They have lost all interest in Syria because of Ukraine, where some 600 Russian soldiers lie wounded or dead in a war that should never have started and could go on forever.” Trump said.
