Trump challenged Biden to a debate — Bloomberg

After Haley's withdrawal from the presidential race

Donald Trump challenged incumbent US President Joe Biden to a debate after he himself refused to attend events attended by his election rivals. He writes about it Bloomberg.

"It is important for the good of our country that Joe Biden and I discuss issues that are so vital to America and the American people. That's why I call for a debate anytime, anywhere, and anyone." — Trump wrote Wednesday in a post on his social media platform, Truth Social.

Trump's desire to hold the debate comes hours after his last Republican challenger, Nikki Haley, dropped out of the presidential race.

Although Trump missed five primaries with his political opponents. His opponent, Chris Christie, called him a "chicken" for not attending similar events, which became a hotly debated topic. Now, with the announcement of Nikki Haley's withdrawal, Trump has decided to go directly to Biden with a proposal to hold the debate anywhere, anytime.

The nonpartisan Commission on Presidential Debates has already announced dates for three debates in September and October and a single debate for the vice presidential candidates.

Biden and Trump debated each other twice in 2020. One forum was canceled because Trump was diagnosed with the coronavirus.
