Donald Trump has proposed changing the 25th Amendment to the Constitution to allow Congress to impeach Vice President Kamala Harris for "covering up the incapacity" of Joe Biden. This is reported Politico.
At a rally in Wisconsin on Saturday, September 7, Trump said he would support amending the US Constitution to establish the possibility of impeachment for "conspiracy to conceal the incapacity of the president."
"If you do that while covering for the president of the United States, that's grounds for immediate impeachment and removal from office, because that's what they did." - he said.
The ex-president has repeatedly accused Vice President Kamala Harris, who is his competitor in the current election, and Democrats in general, of hiding Biden's health.
These accusations intensified after a debate in late June in which the US president and then-presumptive presidential candidate looked extremely unconvincing - which ultimately led to his exit from the race.
Some Republicans in Congress have also previously called for the 25th Amendment to the Constitution, which provides for a procedure to remove a sitting president from power, to remove Biden after the debate.
Last month, Republicans in the House of Representatives published a report with the results of an investigation into the US president and his family. If the House approves it, it would trigger impeachment proceedings against Biden.
