The free TikTok Notes application has been released in the App Store and Google Play marketplaces - this is a new social network from the creators of TikTok, which is a direct competitor to Instagram. Users can upload photos and leave captions with titles.
Although TikTok Notes is a direct competitor of Instagram, the social network does not copy the design of its counterpart. Here you can share pictures, photo galleries and place text posts. The functions of repost, favorite and comments are also present. But there are no personal messages on the social network, write The Guardian.
When launching TikTok Notes, the user is greeted by two tabs: "For You" and "Subscriptions". In the first section, recommendations based on algorithms are collected, in the second - publications only from users to whom you are subscribed.
It mentions that you won't have to create a new account - you can use an existing TikTok account if you have one. One of the features of the platform will be integration with the main service.
Currently, TikTok Notes is only available to residents of Canada and Australia. There is no word yet on when the app will be publicly available in all countries.
Rumor has it that TikTok has plans to leave the US market. In March, the US House of Representatives passed a bill that would give ByteDance, which owns the service, about five months to sell it. Otherwise, app stores will have to remove TikTok from downloads. Later it became known that Canada may ban TikTok after the USA.
