Residents of the front-line Zaporizhzhia region are urged to prepare for a lack of electricity in winter. The authorities purchase generators and cogeneration plants. This was stated by the head of the Zaporizhzhia regional administration, Ivan Fedorov, during the telethon.
"I tell everyone that we have to prepare for the fact that there will be no electricity at all. Maybe you don't like it. Because we operate with such categorical things. But let's prepare for the worst. It will be better - it will be great", - he said.
According to his forecast, Zaporizhzhia may not have a centralized power supply to water pumping stations.
"What should we do? We have to double reserve. Install one generator and the other" he explained.
As for heat supply, cogeneration units will be installed at all large boiler houses in the city of Zaporizhia and the Zaporizhia region, such as in Vilnyansk, where there is centralized heating. The first ones will start working already in December this year.
"Why is there a delay and why was it not done before the heating season? Because we understand that Ukraine is a huge country and today we have a crazy demand for cogeneration plants. No production in the world is able to cover the needs of the huge state of Ukraine. And we also have no money«.
According to him, Ukraine is turning to partners to purchase.
"Our partners finance us, they bought for us. And on November 15, the first cogeneration plants will be installed on the territory of Zaporozhye. The connection, we hope, will take up to a month. So we'll reserve it." he added.
The head of the OVA also added that there are already generators in schools and hospitals, which will be able to provide electricity for the educational process, as well as for the provision of medical assistance.
