The United States has presented a new National Security Strategy, one of the key points of which is ending the war in Ukraine. This is stated on site White House.
The United States also considers restoring strategic stability in relations with Russia to be one of its main priorities in the European direction.
In general, Washington wants to restore stability in Europe and believes that the basis should be the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. The US is also determined to end hostilities as soon as possible to "stabilize the Eurasian space" and reduce the risks of armed conflict between European countries and Russia.
From Europe, the United States wants open markets for American goods and fair treatment for American businesses.
Under the new strategy, the US also wants NATO to stop being perceived as an "ever-expanding alliance" and for Europe to take responsibility for its own defense.
At the same time, the US administration is "at odds" with European officials, many of whom are "trampling" on democratic norms.
Interestingly, the US no longer sees the Middle East as a dominant factor in its foreign policy, and the Indo-Pacific region will be the battlefield of one of the key geopolitical and economic battles of this century. Also, in the future, the US should focus on trading with China only in non-strategic goods.
