The US is planning to hold a meeting in Saudi Arabia not only with representatives of Ukraine, but also with the Russians. About this writes CNN with reference to an informed source.
"Senior Trump administration officials will hold separate meetings with Russian and Ukrainian officials in Saudi Arabia this week," — the source said.
This will mark the start of another crucial week of high-stakes negotiations as President Donald Trump and his team try to broker a deal between the two countries.
The source declined to say who will be present at the talks. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is among the American officials who will meet with their Ukrainian counterparts in Jeddah.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump spoke about the upcoming negotiations, telling reporters on Sunday: "As you know, there are going to be big meetings in Saudi Arabia. Russia will be participating, but also Ukraine, let's see if we can achieve something."
Trump also expressed hope that "some very important things could happen this week."
