US President Joe Biden's administration will step up its support for Ukraine in the months leading up to Donald Trump's return to the presidency, and will try to strengthen NATO during that time. Such a statement was made by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken during a visit to the NATO headquarters in Brussels, where he met with Alliance Secretary General Mark Rutte. writes Reuters.
According to him, the administration will continue to support Ukraine so that it can either fight effectively in 2025 or negotiate with Russia "from a position of strength."
Blinken added that Biden "will use every day" to "strengthen this alliance."
In addition, the US Secretary of State stated that the deployment of North Korean troops to help Russia in the war against Ukraine "requires and will receive a firm response."
In turn, Rutte emphasized that "Russia did not win":
"It is clear that we must do more so that Ukraine can continue the fight, be able to repulse the Russian offensive as much as possible and prevent Putin from succeeding in Ukraine."
