On November 18, 50 Ukrainian citizens were returned from the United States through the Shehyny checkpoint, which is located on the border with Poland. This was reported by the spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Andriy Demchenko, in a comment to UNIAN.
"They are documented by relevant documents on Ukrainian citizenship or return documents. Prior to this, Ukraine received information from the United States regarding its intentions, in accordance with the provisions of international law, to expel a number of persons without US citizenship who are natives of Ukraine in transit through the territory of the Republic of Poland," - Demchenko noted.
He added that currently, border guards have ensured their border clearance for entry into Ukraine in accordance with the Rules defined by law.
"It is worth noting that Ukraine accepts its citizens in any case. The circumstances are also being clarified, due to which a decision was made regarding their forced expulsion," – added Demchenko.
