The US is close to an agreement to provide Ukraine with long-range cruise missiles that could reach deep into the Russian Federation. However, Kyiv will have to wait several months to resolve technical issues that arise before any delivery. By information Reuters, this was stated by US representatives.
Air-to-surface missiles (JASSM) are expected to be included in the weapons package this fall, although no final decision has yet been made, said three sources, who declined to be named because they were not authorized to discuss the topic.
As military analysts have suggested, the use of stealthy JASSMs, which have a longer range than most other missiles in Ukraine's current arsenal, could push Russian bridgeheads and supply depots hundreds of kilometers away.
As Volodymyr Zelenskyi previously stated, if the partners removed all long-range restrictions, then Ukraine would not need a physical intervention, in particular, on Kurshchyna in order to protect Ukrainian citizens in the border areas and destroy the potential of Russian aggression.
According to the President, the situation in Donetsk region is such that the further delay of long-range partners de facto becomes almost the most important pillar of the Russian offensive potential.
