President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy v interview The Associated Press said the issue of a foreign military contingent is part of the discussion about security guarantees, but the presence of the military alone is not enough.
"This cannot be just a symbolic presence on paper. If they are here for protection, we need to know exactly who is running them and what their mandate is in case of an attack," Zelensky emphasized.
The President also emphasized that Russia does not seek a just end to the war, but wants to destroy Ukrainian independence and freedom.
According to him, real security guarantees should include a strong army, the development of the defense industry, the production of weapons in Ukraine under American licenses, as well as long-term military and technological support.
"We are fighting, we are holding on, we are doing everything to bring peace closer. And today, more than ever in these three years of war, we are close to it. We have defended our state, our independence, our country. We have also suffered enormous losses. I am extremely proud of our heroic people. We must do everything to restore stability and ensure a just peace for all Ukrainians." — Zelenskyy concluded.
