As of Tuesday, December 27, the capacity deficit has slightly decreased thanks to the increase in power plant production volumes. However, consumption is increasing, in particular due to the restoration of energy infrastructure in the de-occupied territories.
This is reported by the national energy company "Ukrenergo".
"Accordingly, the number of consumers to whom electricity supply has been at least partially restored has increased, and the volume of industrial consumption is also increasing," the company noted.
This is due to an increase in the production volumes of power plants. In addition, after the emergency recovery, the unit was reconnected at one of the TPPs that was damaged during one of the latest Russian missile attacks.
The available capacity is not enough, consumption limits have been established for all regions. Their excess leads to the use of emergency shutdowns to balance the power system.
The department added that despite this, the specified capacity is not enough to meet the needs of all consumers, as the volume of consumption has also increased. This is connected with the restoration of the energy infrastructure in the de-occupied territories.
The company reminds that exceeding the critical level of consumption will lead to emergency shutdowns.
