Ukraine has a chance to join the European Union in the early 2030s. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Radosław Sikorski, Polsat News reports.
According to Sikorsky, despite the blockade by Hungary, Ukraine has already passed an important stage - it has received the status of a candidate country.
"Ukraine will become a member of the EU at the beginning of the next decade," — he assessed.
At the same time, Sikorsky emphasized that the key condition for Ukraine's accession to the European Union remains the fight against corruption.
"If Ukraine tolerates corruption, it will not join the European Union. The EU demands honesty and compliance with procedures," he says.
The politician added that the current corruption scandals in Ukraine are a serious signal that Kyiv must take into account on the path to European integration.
