Ukraine reacted sharply to Russia's missile attack on Kremenchuk's energy infrastructure. The Foreign Ministry called it part of Moscow's cynical strategy — to act while the world's attention is focused on the Middle East.
According to According to Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga, Moscow is deliberately attacking the Ukrainian energy system while the world is focused on the escalation between Israel and Iran.
He stressed that these strikes are an attempt by Russia to increase pressure and terror, while simulating readiness for peaceful dialogue with the West. In this context, the strikes on Kremenchuk look especially cynical.
Sibiga called on international partners not to limit themselves to statements, but to strike at Russia's energy heart.
He noted that this requires lowering the ceiling price for Russian oil to $30, introducing additional restrictions against Russia's shadow fleet and its captains, and generally strengthening sanctions against the Russian energy sector.
"Hit Putin where it hurts - it will help, not hinder, the peace process," the minister emphasized.
