"Among the new subjects of sanctions are Russian and international companies operating shadow fleet vessels, traders of Russian crude oil, and suppliers of Russia's military-industrial complex, including those based in third countries," - the statement says.
In addition, a further 105 vessels from third countries are now subject to a comprehensive ban on the purchase, sale and provision of services. These are mainly tankers that are part of Russia's shadow fleet, which circumvents price restrictions on Russian crude oil and petroleum products, or that transport military goods for Russia.
EAER also lowered the price cap on Russian crude oil to $47,6 per barrel. The statement noted that the oil price cap will take effect on September 3.
In the trade sector, 26 new entities, including some in third countries, are subject to stricter export control restrictions, in particular for circumventing export restrictions on unmanned aerial vehicles.
Switzerland also adopted the additional lists introduced by the EU on July 15 regarding Moldova and July 18 regarding Belarus.
In the context of Moldova: seven more individuals and three entities are now subject to an asset freeze and a ban on providing economic resources.
"These lists are directed against individuals and organizations participating in Russia's efforts to influence the referendum on Moldova's EU membership and the 2024 presidential elections," – explained in the statement.
And regarding Belarus: eight Belarusian defense industry companies are now subject to an asset freeze and a ban on providing economic resources.
