Students from the age of 14 will be trained for national resistance. About this informed Acting Head of the National Resistance Policy Department of the Ministry of Defense Ihor Khort during a roundtable at Ukrinform.
Training will include weapons handling, tactical and fire training.
Thus, instead of basic military training (BMT), the state is introducing a new model – the foundations of national resistance, which will cover all citizens, starting from school age.
"This is no longer just an academic discipline, it is a cycle of preparing citizens for national resistance," – Hort noted.
According to new approaches, the cycle of preparing citizens for national resistance begins at the age of 14, in particular through participation in military-patriotic games such as "Sokil", "Jura", as well as studying the updated subject "Defense of Ukraine", which is already being implemented in schools and vocational education.
