I bought a new phone, and put my previous one up for sale on one of the bulletin boards. The buyer calls me, asks for payment details, and says he will make a full payment in advance to avoid the surcharge fee when delivering via Novaya Poshta. Immediately, an unknown number calls me, introduces itself as a bank employee, and tries to get my payment information from my card under the pretext of crediting me with funds from a legal entity. After that, all the funds were debited from my card.
The head of the 9th department (operational search and partnership in the field of information technologies) of the Cybercrime Countermeasures Department in Kyiv, police captain Parkhomenko Andriy Mykolayovych, was informed and explained how the scammers work in this fraudulent scheme and that a pseudo-buyer can ask for card details to pay for your goods on a bulletin board and name the time of the transfer or something similar.
