Russians launch missile strike on Sumy: over 20 dead reported (photo)

Russian occupiers attacked the city of Sumy on Palm Sunday, April 13. As a result of the missile strike, more than 20 people died and the city suffered serious damage. This was reported by the acting mayor of Sumy, secretary of the Sumy City Council Artem Kobzar.

"Today, there are many deaths as a result of a missile strike... The enemy has again struck the civilian population," — the official wrote.

At the same time, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council Andrey Kovalenko wrote that the Russians deliberately fired missiles at civilians in Sumy on Palm Sunday to cause many casualties.

Later in the Sumy City Council reportedthat the enemy attacked the city's civilian infrastructure.

"As a result of the missile strike in Sumy, there are dead and injured people, residential and non-residential buildings have been damaged. A headquarters is being deployed to eliminate the consequences of the emergency situation," — added in the message. 

Subsequently, Artem Kobzar clarified that more than 20 deaths are already known due to Russian shelling.
