"Russia is not looking for peace": Sybiga, Shmyhal and Umerov on a massive attack on Ukraine

Zelensky war

Yesterday's maximalist demands by Russia for Ukraine to withdraw troops from its regions, combined with these brutal strikes, show that Russia, not Ukraine, is the obstacle to peace, Ukraine's Foreign Minister said. Andriy Sybiga.

"It is Moscow, not Kyiv, that should be put under pressure," he emphasizes.

According to him, the Ukrainian capital experienced a particularly terrible and noisy night and there are already reports of 9 civilian deaths in Kyiv and over 70 injured, including 6 children.

The minister stressed that other cities and communities across Ukraine were shelled by Russian missiles and drones in the middle of the night, resulting in civilian deaths and injuries.

"By his actions, not his words, Putin is demonstrating that he has no respect for any peace efforts and only seeks to continue the war. Weakness and concessions will not stop his terror and aggression. Only force and pressure," — emphasizes Sibiga.

At the same time, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov stressed that more than 70 people, including six children, were injured in the attack on Kyiv. Currently, searches under the rubble continue.

"The Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Poltava, Khmelnytskyi, Sumy and Zaporizhia regions were under attack. These attacks are another confirmation that Russia is not looking for peace. It continues to kill Ukrainians. We are counting on a strong reaction from other countries. We need additional air defense to protect against Russian terror. In parallel, the creation of real security guarantees must continue - those that will make any aggression against our country impossible. This is the path to a just and reliable peace," added the minister.

In turn, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmigal emphasized that all night long Russia terrorized Ukrainian cities, shelling with cruise and ballistic missiles, drones, and aerial bombs.
He noted that as a result of Russian strikes, there is damage to residential buildings, civil and social infrastructure.

"Russia is cruelly and cynically firing missiles at Ukrainian cities, killing people, while the world is making efforts to establish peace," — Shmyhal emphasized.

According to him, Ukraine insists on a complete and unconditional ceasefire, and the enemy must pay for the destruction.
