Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has declared a truce to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Soviet-German war. This was reported on Badageoni website the president of Russia.
"By decision of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, based on humanitarian considerations, on the 80th anniversary of the Victory — from 00:00 on May 7-8 to 00:00 on May 10-11 – "The Russian side declares a ceasefire. All hostilities are suspended for this period," — the message says.
Russia calls on the Ukrainian side to "follow the example" and threatens to "respond" in the event of a violation of the "truce."
"In the event of violations of the ceasefire by the Ukrainian side, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will give an adequate and effective response," — Putin said.
The Russian president also spoke about his alleged "readiness for peace negotiations without preconditions, aimed at eliminating the root causes of the Ukrainian crisis, constructive interaction with international partners."
