Putin is ready for peace if certain demands are met, — Reuters

Russian President Vladimir Putin has put forward a number of demands to end the war against Ukraine during a meeting with US President Donald Trump in Alaska. The demands include more than just territorial concessions. The Reuters.

According to the publication's sources, the information about Putin's ultimatum is based on discussions between the leaders of Europe, the United States and Ukraine, and is not complete. However, Reuters did reveal several of Putin's demands in Alaska.

According to the publication, the dictator's proposal excludes a ceasefire until a peace agreement is reached.

The Russian side demands that Ukraine completely withdraw its troops from the Donetsk and Luhansk regions in exchange for the Russian Federation's commitment to freeze the front lines in the Kherson and Zaporizhia regions.

Russia is allegedly ready to return small areas in Sumy and Kharkiv regions.

Putin also seeks recognition of occupied Crimea as Russian. But it is unclear whether this means recognition only by the United States, or by all Western countries and Ukraine.

In addition, Russia wants at least some of the sanctions lifted. Moscow also wants Ukraine to abandon its bid to join NATO. But, the publication writes, Putin seems to have been open to Ukraine receiving certain security guarantees.

Another Kremlin demand granting official status to the Russian language in some parts of Ukraine or throughout the country, as well as the right to operate freely for the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC).
