On Sunday, June 16, the final declaration was adopted at the World Peace Summit in Switzerland, which was supported by 80 countries and 4 organizations.
The following is the full text of the communique that was publications on the website of the President of Ukraine.
“The Russian Federation's ongoing war against Ukraine continues to cause massive human suffering and destruction, and to create risks and crises with global implications for the world. We gathered in Switzerland on June 15-16, 2024, to strengthen the high-level dialogue on ways to a comprehensive, just and sustainable peace for Ukraine. We reiterate the resolutions of the UN General Assembly A/RES/ES-11/1 dated 02.03.2022 and A/RES/ES-11/6 dated 23.02.2023 and emphasize our commitment to compliance with international law, including the Charter of the United Nations Nations
This Summit was built on the basis of previous discussions, which took place on the basis of the Ukrainian peace formula and other peace proposals in accordance with international law, including the Charter of the United Nations.
We deeply appreciate Switzerland's hospitality and its initiative to host the High Level Summit as an expression of its firm commitment to promoting international peace and security.
We had a fruitful, comprehensive and constructive exchange of different opinions on ways to achieve the basis for a comprehensive, just and sustainable peace on the basis of international law, including the Charter of the United Nations. In particular, we confirm our commitment to refrain from the threat of force or its use against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state, the principles of sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of all states, including Ukraine, within their internationally recognized borders, including territorial waters, and resolving disputes by peaceful means as principles of international law.
In addition, we share a common vision on the following important aspects:
1) First, any use of nuclear energy and nuclear installations must be safe, secure, reliably guarded and not harmful to the environment. Ukrainian nuclear power plants and installations, in particular the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant, must operate safely and securely under the full sovereign control of Ukraine and in accordance with the principles of the IAEA and under its supervision.
Any threat or use of nuclear weapons in the context of war in Ukraine is unacceptable.
2) Second, global food security depends on uninterrupted food production and supply. In this regard, free, full and safe commercial shipping, as well as access to seaports on the Black and Azov seas, are extremely important. Attacks on merchant vessels in ports and en route, as well as on civilian ports and civilian port infrastructure, are unacceptable.
Food security cannot be used as a weapon in any way. Ukrainian agricultural products must be safely and freely supplied to interested third countries.
3) Third, all prisoners of war must be released by full exchange. All deported and illegally displaced Ukrainian children and all other illegally detained Ukrainian civilians must be returned to Ukraine.
We believe that achieving peace requires engagement and dialogue between all parties. Therefore, we decided to take concrete measures in the above-mentioned areas in the future with the further involvement of representatives of all parties.
The Charter of the United Nations, including the principles of respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of all states, can and will serve as a basis for achieving a comprehensive, just and sustainable peace in Ukraine."
