During his stay in Kyiv, Christodoulides will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, where he will reaffirm Cyprus' commitment to international law and respect for the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
The leaders will discuss the process of Ukraine's accession to the EU, the priorities of the upcoming Cyprus presidency of the Council of the EU, as well as the implementation and effectiveness of international sanctions.
A wreath-laying ceremony at the Wall of Remembrance of the Fallen Defenders of Ukraine in the War with Russia is planned. This will be followed by a closed meeting and expanded negotiations at the Presidential Palace on relations between Ukraine and the EU, followed by a working lunch.
Christodoulides will also meet with the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk, visit a rehabilitation center for children who returned after being kidnapped from Ukraine, and St. Sophia Cathedral.
